I have been working on an illustration for a Dazed Digital competition, that consisted on illustrating one or several covers, selected by Dazed & Confused. I submitted this illustration and maybe will submit one more. The deadline is today! Wish me luck! Digital collage by l'habitué.

R.I.P.

You simply just can't ignore this. I still can't believe it... I adored this man since I was a child. I grew up loving fashion as an art form because of him. I can't believe his gone. He was and will always be a reference to me and to everyone who takes fashion seriously, because he was a true creative spirit, a genius far ahead of his time. No one in his generation will ever compare to him or to his life's work and his talent will never be forgotten. Rest in Peace Alexander, you will be missed.

PRINTING...

I have never been much of a print kind of girl, I prefer solids by far, but I guess that just has to do with the fact that I can't seem to find prints I love. But in the new spring/summer collections (check out Rodarte and Thakoon), I have seen really beautiful prints that will probably make me think twice the next time I think about putting on my loyal white t-shirt.

CHARLOTTE

Charlotte Gainsbourg is fast becoming my next style icon. I love her effortless choices and her distinct presence. She doesn't need to amaze us with her clothes because she is naturally stylish. Her posture, her smile...such beautiful gestures... we all should learn from this super talented actress. And she can sing too. Charlotte Gainsbourg by Kurt Iswarienko for Flaunt.

LBD

All of these dresses were created within a worthy project that involved 22 leading fashion designers, who were asked to design a little black dress. These dresses will then be auctioned in September, with all the proceeds going directly to the American Cancer Society and the Ligue nationale contre le cancer in France. It's good to know that designers get involved in such  noble causes. I also love the way the dresses were photographed by talented Scheltens & Abbenes. Here are some of my favorites (in order of appearance): Azzaro, Donna Karan, Fendi, Garpard Yurkievich, Givenchy, Marios Schwab, Valentino and Vivienne Westwood.

WONDERING

I'm usully not fascinated with jewellery editorials, they tend to be really opulent and exaggerated, but this one by photographer Lina Scheynius for Exit F/W 2009, just seemed so relaxed and clean. The way she uses color or no color at all, makes this editorial so much more appealing to me. No make-up, no in-your-face rubys, just an intriguing girl wondering around in Chanel jewellery...
